FAQs
Just stop there. We don’t know. Every department has different policies, standards and needs. If you want to know something about a specific department, call them and ask. It’s not like they’re going to write down your name and cross you off of a non existent list (if they even ask for your name.) Wanna know if they’ll hire someone with a DUI? CALL THEM AND ASK.
Every contract varies in length and it’s level of commitment. That will be up for you to decide. We don’t know if your current job is willing to work with you and your schedule. Ask them.
We post jobs across the country as well as overseas. If you aren’t willing to travel, you will limit your opportunities. You are applying for a contract that probably pays well over anything available locally, and there’s a reason for that. Leave the nest, go get paid.
The only person who can and should answer that for you, is you. Think about the pros and cons, your current financial situation, and what makes YOU happy. Some of life’s choices are hard, but having random dip shits on the internet make them for you isn’t the answer.
Nice try, Chief.
Complain like everyone else. Combat Medic and Infantry. Army and USMC.
Yes. By now, the validity of the Job Board is well known. Sign up, check it out, and go have the time of your life while getting paid ridiculous amounts of money.

The certs needed for each contract will be outlined in the job posting. It varies. It would behoove you to stack as many certs as you can, so when something pops up you’re good to go. Do not let your basic certs lapse. Be ready when the time comes, because if you try to re-cert once you see the post it’ll probably be too late.
We have what’s currently available on www.BeyondTheMeatWagon.com. Keep an eye out for monthly sticker packs. Once those are gone, they’re gone until the annual Monster Sticker Pack which sells out very quickly.
We get a lot, a lot, a lot of DMs. 1 of the 4 of us saw your message. If we didn’t respond, you probably asked a question that we’ve answered a whole lot of times, which is the main reason for this FAQ. It’s nothing personal. BUT as I said, one of us read it. Everyone who sends us positive messages and thanks, we see you. Even the reactions to posts/stories, we see you, and we thank you. We love you.
Maybe, DM us on Instagram at @WorstResponders
We have outlined the entire hiring process very clearly in our free articles, the first in the series is RIGHT HERE! We receive emails and DMs just about every single day thanking us for how helpful the articles are. Go read them.
These gigantic corporations have a long history of exploiting the skills and work ethic of those in our chosen professions and we ain’t down with it. We advocate for people to work where they’ll be appreciated, supported, advocated for, and compensated fairly...private ambo companies generally don’t fall into any of those categories. We know our worth, and we want you to know yours.
Whatever you do, just stick with it. We don’t need to go in depth about all the positive physical and mental aspects of fitness, but we will send you to www.fireathlete.com where you can currently get a free 7 day free trial that gives you access to programs that are specifically made for first responders, and created by first responders. Everything from body weight exercises you can do while staged in an Arby’s parking lot, to strength training programs that will help you crush hiring process across the country. Check it out.
Each individual contractor and contract will have different standards and policies regarding citizenship and certifications. If you are serious about working these contracts, we suggest subscribing and seeing what you can work out. Again, whether or not a contract will accept Canadian (or any other country) certification will completely depend on the company offering the contract. Ask them. There are plenty of non Americans that have landed contracts off of the Job Board.
This is the question I hate the most. The answer is no. We sympathize with everyone who sends us their GoFundMe links. If we posted everything that was sent to us, we would have room for zero other content. We get A LOT of them, and being in a position to pick and choose which ones we post is not something we’re interested in doing. We have been and are currently working on non profits that we can use to support our community. Stay tuned.
